Thanks for being a part of the 2019 Summit!

The Third-Annual PAVE Parent Policy Summit (P3 Summit) gave parents a platform to share the issues they have identified as most critical to their children’s education. 150+ parent leaders from all wards, alongside elected officials and education advocates, came together to decide the issues that families wanted to see amplified for the 2019-2020 school year. At the Summit, parent leaders voted for the two issue areas they believed should be the focus of their work in the coming year: Mental Health Supports and Trauma-informed Training in Schools and Specialized School Programming. We loved seeing parents and attendees convene around education issues in our city for the second year in a row, as we continued our work to build an education system that is created not just for, but by and with families.

The Third-Annual PAVE Parent Policy Summit (P3 Summit) gave parents a platform to share the issues they identified as most critical to their children’s education. At the Summit, parent leaders voted for the two issue areas they believed should be the focus of their work in the coming year, and by the end of the event, they created a parent-driven policy agenda for PAVE. We loved seeing parents and attendees come together around education issues in our city for the third year in a row, as we work to build an education system that is created not just for, but by and with families.

The five issue areas parent leaders voted on at the PAVE Parent Policy Summit were:

Issue #1: More Specialized School Programs

Issue #2: Increased Per-pupil Funding

Issue #3: Mental Health Supports and Trauma-informed Training in All Schools

Issue #4: Sustainable Access to High-quality Out of School Time (OST) Programs

Issue #5: Parent and Community-centered Engagement Opportunities
